Big Bite Breads: Salt Lake City’s Home for Giant, Delicious Cinnamon Rolls

A Taste of Tradition

Big Bite Breads isn’t just about baking—it’s about keeping family traditions alive. The bakery was founded by Nannette Smith, whose passion for baking stems from her cherished childhood memories with her grandmother, Letitia Sorensen (1902-1989). From an early age, Nannette helped her grandmother in the kitchen, learning the art of handmade bread and rolls. Their famous Parker House rolls were a staple at every family gathering, and the tradition lives on today in every bite of Big Bite Breads’ offerings.

From Basement to Bakery

The journey of Big Bite Breads is one of resilience and passion. In 2008, during tough economic times, Nannette and her husband decided to sell Grandma’s famous rolls to support their family. With the help of Cal’s Deli, they began baking in a borrowed kitchen, eventually moving the operation to a commercial kitchen in their own basement. Over the years, the demand for their delicious rolls skyrocketed, and by 2024, they had outgrown their basement bakery and moved into a dedicated storefront on Redwood Road in North Salt Lake.

More Than Just Cinnamon Rolls

A Flavor for Every Craving

Big Bite Breads offers their cinnamon rolls in three sizes—small, medium, and large. The medium rolls are so big they barely fit in your hand! If you’re a fan of fruity flavors, the strawberry cinnamon roll is a must-try. The taste is reminiscent of homemade strawberry jam, bringing back nostalgic memories of childhood treats.
