All I can say is wow, oh wow! If you’ve ever thought about getting a laser peel or PRF microneedling, I’m here to tell you, do it! I recently had both treatments done at Good Rest Med Spa, and my skin is literally glowing. I look three years younger!
What is PRF Microneedling?
If you haven’t heard of PRF microneedling, let me explain. PRF, or Platelet-Rich Fibrin, microneedling is an advanced cosmetic procedure that combines microneedling with the application of PRF to enhance skin rejuvenation and healing. Microneedling uses fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. PRF is derived from the patient’s own blood, containing concentrated platelets and fibrin essential for healing and tissue regeneration. During the procedure, a small amount of blood is drawn, processed to extract PRF, and then applied to the skin during the microneedling procedure. This combination accelerates healing, boosts collagen production, and improves skin texture, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. It’s minimally invasive with minimal downtime, leveraging the body’s natural healing capabilities for rejuvenation. Results become more noticeable over several weeks as the skin heals and regenerates.
My PRF Microneedling Experience
Creating micro-injuries to your face might sound painful, but don’t worry. Good Rest Med Spa applies a numbing cream before starting. During my visit, the numbing cream helped immensely. There were still some sensitive areas, like around my hairline and the bridge of my nose. It was very minimal. After the procedure, your face may be red; mine was red for about two days, but I have sensitive skin. The worst part is the itching when it comes time to start peeling. You might not always peel, but it’s common. It was incredibly satisfying to see the new, smooth skin once the peeling stage was complete. I keep rubbing my cheeks and saying my face is as soft as a baby’s bottom.
Enhancing Results with a Laser Peel
Before my PRF microneedling, I also opted for a laser peel to further improve my skin color, texture, tone, and reduce wrinkles and fine lines. A laser peel, or laser skin resurfacing, uses focused light energy to remove damaged outer skin layers, promoting new cell growth and collagen production. Specific lasers precisely remove damaged skin, stimulating underlying collagen for improved elasticity and firmness. Benefits include reduced wrinkles, smoother texture, and even skin tone, with noticeable results often seen after one session. Post-treatment, the skin may be red and swollen, with a healing time of a few days to weeks. It’s important to follow aftercare instructions, to ensure proper healing.
My Laser Peel Experience
Don’t be scared of the idea of a laser. This procedure was quick and easy. Good Rest Med Spa applied numbing cream to my face before starting and had me wear dark glasses to protect my eyes from the bright light. I felt a slight heat from the laser but it was very minimal. With laser peels, you might experience peeling like microneedling, but there’s also a chance of some swelling. Since I have sensitive skin, I was swollen for about four days, but it got less each day.
It’s been a few weeks since my visit to Good Rest Med Spa, and my fresh, new layer of skin is impeccable. I can visibly see that my skin color has brightened, my pores look half the size they were, my skin texture is smooth, and my skin feels tighter. Was it worth it? Absolutely. I would highly recommend Good Rest Med Spa any day of the week.
